Should I stay in Aix or Avignon?

Aix works for town life, Marseille and Sainte-Victoire. Avignon is practical for TGV arrivals, the Palais des Papes, Pont du Gard, Arles and Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

When is a village base better?

Saint-Rémy and Luberon villages are strongest when countryside mornings and rural evenings are the purpose. They normally require a car or booked driver.

Should I split four nights?

Usually no. Add a second base only with seven or more nights and a real geographic split.
