Rome itinerary planner

Start with the Rome you want to experience, not a race between sights. Choose your time and priorities for a neighborhood-based outline, then adapt it around your hotel, dates and reservations.

Use the interactive planner to compare your options. Estimates are editorial recommendations, not live availability or forecasts.

Example: three full days, balanced pace

Day 1: Ancient Rome

Choose a Colosseum and Roman Forum visit as your main outing.

Confirm the ticket type, timed entry and walking requirements. The archaeological sites involve uneven ground and limited shade.

Day 2: The historic center

Take an unhurried walk around Piazza Navona and the Pantheon area.

An interior visit to the Pantheon needs its own admission check. This outline does not include a ticket or guided tour.

Day 3: Vatican Museums and Prati

Make the Vatican Museums your main visit, with a meal in Prati before or after your booked slot.

Check the official calendar: most Sundays are closed, with a last-Sunday exception and additional closures. Book the correct timed ticket. St. Peter's Basilica has separate access and security arrangements and is not automatically included.

A three-day starting point

For a first visit at a balanced pace, start with ancient Rome, a day around the historic center, and a separate Vatican Museums day. This is an editorial starting point, not a promise that every site fits your dates. Use the controls to prioritize art, food or a slower pace.

Two days means choosing

With only two full days, this planner keeps your main interest and a historic-center day. It does not squeeze the Vatican Museums, Colosseum, Borghese and long meals into the same short visit. If a sight is essential, swap a day or extend the stay.

Build around bookings, not invented times

Confirm the official calendars, ticket conditions and transport before fixing the order. Colosseum entry requires a time slot, and the Vatican Museums have their own opening calendar. Keep major visits separate and leave enough time for security, breaks and travel.

Make the walking work for you

Rome includes cobbles, hills and exposed archaeological areas. Tell us about mobility needs, heat tolerance and how long you enjoy walking. The relaxed setting leaves generous rest time around confirmed visits, but it does not certify an accessible route.

Does this Rome planner make reservations?

No. It generates a free outline from your preferences. No live availability is checked, no tickets are purchased and no restaurant is reserved.

Do arrival and departure count as sightseeing days?

Not in this tool. Enter only your full sightseeing days. Add lighter arrival and departure plans around your actual transport times.

Can I leave the Vatican Museums out?

Yes. Uncheck the Vatican Museums option to keep that day for another area. On a two-day stay, the planner shows a trade-off warning even if you select the museums.

Can Chic Trip tailor the outline to my hotel and interests?

Yes. Start with a conversation about your dates, existing bookings, pace and overall budget. We check the route, local partners and availability before confirming a tailored proposal.
