This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies chic-trip.com and the Chic Trip app use, what they do, and how you can change your choices. It is part of our Privacy Policy. The site is operated by WANDERCHIC TRAVEL, SASU, Paris.

1. What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. We also use the browser's local storage (which works like a cookie but is not sent with every request), pixels (tiny images or scripts that tell a platform that a page was viewed) and, in the app, storage on your device. In this policy we call all of these "cookies".

Cookies set by us are "first-party"; cookies set by the services we use (Google, Meta and others) are "third-party" and are governed by those companies' own policies.

2. Your choices

Analytics and advertising cookies are set when a page opens. If you visit us from Europe, a banner lets you record your preference, and the Cookie Preferences link in the footer lets everyone do the same at any time. Your preference is stored with your consent record. To block or delete cookies, use your browser settings (see below); you can also ask us to delete your data through the privacy request form.

Cookie Preferences, in the footer of every page, opens the preference centre where you record your choice for each category. Your choice is stored in your browser (key ct_consent_v1) for twelve months and in our consent record.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information, also in the footer, opens the same centre with advertising unticked, and you can send us a privacy request to opt out of sharing.
Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies for this site or for the advertising platforms; blocking essential cookies will stop sign-in and payments from working. Platform opt-outs: Google, Meta, Microsoft, Pinterest.

3. The cookies we use

Essential and service measurement

Needed for the site and the app to work: signing in, keeping your session, paying, remembering your consent, protecting against abuse, and measuring how our own service is used so that we can fix and improve it. They cannot be switched off. The measurement tools in this group (PostHog, Microsoft Clarity, Sentry) are configured by us to measure our own site and app; each provider processes the data under its own terms, listed in our Privacy Policy.

Embedded services

Some pages embed tools from other companies, which may set their own cookies when you use them: Calendly (booking a call with us), Google Maps (maps in the app and on some pages) and hCaptcha (abuse protection on forms). They load only on the pages where they are used.

4. The Chic Trip app

The iOS and Android app stores your trip, documents and maps on your device so that it works without a connection. It uses the essential and analytics technologies above but does not load advertising pixels. You can clear the stored data by signing out or deleting the app.

5. Changes
