Where to stay on the Amalfi Coast
A beautiful hotel should also make your stay easier. Compare the town, steps, luggage access, evenings and the outings you actually want before choosing the room.
Build the right routeConsider Amalfi or Minori if waterfront access and nearby restaurants matter, Positano for its hillside setting, or Ravello for views above the sea. The actual hotel entrance, steps and transport connections matter more than the town name alone. Sorrento is on the Sorrentine Peninsula, not the Amalfi Coast. Our eight-day example uses three nights in Naples and four in one coast hotel, chosen with you.

Compare the walk between the hotel, dinner, the waterfront and your agreed pick-up point. A central address can simplify evenings, but being in a coastal town does not guarantee a step-free room or easy luggage access.
We check the actual pier and service for your travel date. Public ferries, private boats and road transfers are different arrangements, not interchangeable promises.
Positano and Praiano suit travelers drawn to the hillside setting and coast views. Before choosing a room, check the route from the road or pier, the stairs to the hotel and the return from dinner.
A balcony or sea-view category is a specific room choice. We compare the view, arrival access and transport needed for your planned outings, rather than assuming the photograph tells you how the stay works.
Ravello offers a different stay above the coast. It is not a port: a boat outing needs a road connection to the selected boarding point and a return afterward.
It can suit travelers who value time at their hotel and the hilltop setting. We discuss gradients, steps, garden visits and evening plans before deciding whether it fits better than a waterfront base.
Sorrento is not on the Amalfi Coast itself. It can be considered for a different itinerary focused on the peninsula, Naples, Pompeii or selected island connections.
Our seven-night example stays in Naples and on the Amalfi Coast, not in Sorrento. Choosing Sorrento instead means reviewing the hotel nights, day routes, transfers and quote, rather than simply relabeling the same stay.
Our eight-day example visits Pompeii from Naples on day three, returning to the same hotel. Day four is reserved for moving to one coast hotel. Day five explores Amalfi and Ravello, with the option to shorten the outing.
Day six remains free, while day seven allows for a short coastal boat outing under the agreed operating conditions. Capri is not included. You can request a different base or route, and we will adjust the proposal before booking.

The last coast night is not automatically the best choice before an early flight. An additional Naples night can be considered with a revised duration and quote. A boat day depends on the selected service and sea conditions; a land alternative and any price difference are agreed in advance.

No. Ravello is above the coast. A boat outing requires a connection to the selected boarding point, with the return journey, steps and walking checked as part of the plan.
No. Sorrento is on the Sorrentine Peninsula. It may suit a different route, but it is not the coast base included in our Naples and Amalfi Coast example.
A rental car is not assumed in our example. We plan private transfers and transport for the agreed outings. Public ferry services and any boat experience are checked for your dates, route and conditions; continuous driver availability is not included automatically.
Four coast nights follow three nights in Naples, making seven nights and eight calendar days with one hotel change. A shorter coast stay or a single-base route is possible through a separate tailored proposal.
No. Capri would replace the free coast day or require more time, with connections, sea conditions and the price reviewed. It is not an extra stop included in the existing coastal boat outing.
