A day to get to know Bayeux
Old streets, the cathedral and your choice of culture
Explore the historic center at a comfortable pace, with cathedral access checked around services. If you would enjoy the MAHB Museum of Art and History, we can consider it in place of part of the walk, with the visit arrangements confirmed first.
Your Bayeux day does not include the Tapestry. A selected museum is a choice for this day, not an extra added to your free day.
One hotel, four settled nights
The exact Bayeux address matters for dinner, walking and your arrival connection. We check room access, steps or lifts and luggage arrangements before you choose. A central address alone does not guarantee a step-free stay.
Plan the connection between the D-Day stops
Omaha Beach and the cemetery are separate stops. The direct path from the cemetery to the beach is closed to visitors, so we plan the road connection. We also check entry arrangements, walking comfort and the weather for your dates.
Give travel days their own space
We plan from your actual station or airport to your Bayeux hotel, not just a train timetable. Your arrival, luggage and departure connection come first. This is a stay in Normandy, not a D-Day day trip from Paris.
Your free day stays free. A slow breakfast, another walk or no plan at all: it is yours. If you want to add an organized visit, we discuss a revised programme and quote first.

How long is the Normandy example, and where do we stay?
The example is five days and four nights, all in one Bayeux hotel. Arrival and departure are travel days, with one focused D-Day day, one Bayeux culture day and one entirely free day between them. There is no hotel change. We can adapt the duration and pace to your plans.
Is the Bayeux Tapestry included?
No. Checked October 22, 2026: the Bayeux Tapestry Museum says it is closed for renovation until autumn 2027. The Tapestry is not included in this stay. Bayeux's historic center, cathedral and a selected museum can shape the cultural day instead. For a later trip, we check the reopening arrangements before proposing a Tapestry visit; reopening is not guaranteed by this programme.
What does the D-Day day cover?
The example focuses on Omaha Beach and the Normandy American Cemetery, rather than all the landing beaches. Guiding and transport are proposed for your dates and confirmed with their cost in your quote. We check entry arrangements and your walking comfort. The direct cemetery-to-beach path is closed to visitors, so the two stops need a road connection. No ceremony or special access is promised.
Is this a Normandy day trip from Paris?
No. This example includes four nights in Bayeux, giving the coast and the town separate days. We plan your arrival and departure around the station or airport you actually use. If you want to keep a Paris hotel and visit Normandy for the day, tell Fred: that is a different, more focused plan with its own travel arrangements and quote.
How much does this Normandy stay cost?
There is no fixed package price for this example. Charm, Signature and Exceptional are hotel styles, each quoted around your dates, room choices, visits and transport. Can we add Mont-Saint-Michel, Honfleur or Rouen?
We can discuss them as a separate extension or a revised route. They are not included in this five-day example, and the free day remains open. We agree the extra time, connections, hotel changes if needed and cost before booking, with your arrival and departure plans in mind.
