What are the must-see attractions in Paris for a first visit?
For a first Paris visit, prioritize the Seine and historic center, one major museum, the Eiffel Tower, one characterful neighborhood and one excellent meal. Add Versailles only if you have at least five days or it is a personal priority. Paris is experienced between landmarks, not only inside them.
The essential first-visit set
Walk Île de la Cité and the Seine; choose the Louvre or Orsay; see the Eiffel Tower from both ground level and a viewpoint; spend a half-day in Montmartre, Saint-Germain or the Marais; and reserve a dinner that fits your taste. Sainte-Chapelle, the Arc de Triomphe and a Seine cruise are excellent additions.
Do not turn Paris into a checklist
