What is the best way to see the Eiffel Tower?

See the Eiffel Tower twice: once from a viewpoint such as Trocadéro or the Seine, and once up close from the Champ de Mars. Go up only if the view itself matters to you; the second floor gives an excellent city panorama, while summit tickets are harder to secure and more weather-dependent.

Tickets and timing

Buy through the official Eiffel Tower website when tickets are released. Avoid paying a reseller simply for ordinary timed admission. Sunset is beautiful but competitive; morning slots are calmer. Check weather because wind or operational issues can affect the summit.

The best evening view

The tower sparkles for five minutes at the start of each hour after nightfall, subject to the current illumination schedule. The Seine, Trocadéro and Pont de Bir-Hakeim are strong viewpoints. Read our sparkle viewpoint guide.

Is the Eiffel Tower summit worth it?

Yes for the experience and height; the second floor often gives the clearer city view and requires less time.
