What is the best time of year to visit Paris?
Late April to early June and mid-September to mid-October offer the best balance of weather, daylight and atmosphere. Summer has long evenings but larger crowds and heat risk; winter is quieter and better value but darker and colder. The best dates depend on what you want to do.
Season by season
Spring brings gardens and variable rain. June offers long light and high demand. July and August can be hot; some independent restaurants close in August. September and early October are excellent but busy. November through February is ideal for museums, dining and lower hotel prices if you accept short days.
Choose dates around the trip, not a slogan
Fashion weeks, major sports events, trade shows and holidays can move hotel prices sharply. Check the city calendar before buying flights. Our detailed Paris month-by-month guide covers the tradeoffs.
