How do you get to Parc Astérix from Paris?

Direct shuttle buses from central Paris and CDG, or about 40 minutes by car north on the A1. There is no train station at the park, which is the main practical difference with Disneyland.

Is one cheaper than the other?

Parc Astérix, meaningfully: tickets often run 30-40% below Disneyland's, food included. Disneyland answers with the brand and the polish; you pay for the magic.

Parc Astérix or Disneyland Paris: which should you choose?

Disneyland if it is your first Paris trip with children who love Disney; Parc Astérix if you want bigger coasters, shorter queues and a genuinely French day. They are both about 35-45 minutes from Paris but in opposite directions, so this is an either-or day, not a both.

The honest differences

Disneyland Paris: the full Disney machine, easy in English, direct RER A train from central Paris, and the crowds that come with it. Parc Astérix: French humour, notably stronger roller coasters (Toutatis is world-class), noticeably shorter waits, cheaper tickets, but access by shuttle bus or car only, and less of the staff speaks English.

Who should pick which

Children under 10 who dream of castles and characters: Disneyland, no debate. Teenagers who rate a park by its coasters: Astérix wins clearly. Adults curious about French pop culture: Astérix is the more memorable, less commercial day. And if your Paris time is short, consider skipping both: neither park shows you anything of Paris itself.
