Place Masséna
Begin where the nineteenth-century city meets the edge of the old town.
Tip: Notice the shift in street width as soon as you leave the square.
Cours Saleya
Market stalls, façades and café terraces create Vieux Nice's most animated public room.
Tip: Market character changes by day; verify the calendar rather than promising one format.
Place Rossetti and Sainte-Réparate Cathedral
A compact Baroque square opens unexpectedly within the old town's narrow lanes.
Tip: Keep any church entry quiet, brief and conditional on services.
Place Saint-François
This working square preserves a less polished side of the neighbourhood around its old communal landmarks.
Tip: Give delivery vehicles and market activity room in the morning.
Place Garibaldi
Arcades and painted façades introduce the planned city beyond the old lanes.
Tip: Cross using the tram-aware pedestrian route and watch for bicycles.
Escalier P. Suche, Castle Hill Port-side Access
Enter the hill from the port side, where paths begin to rise above the city.
Tip: This is the stepped route. If stairs are unsuitable, use the separate lift entrance after checking that it is operating.
Castle Hill Waterfall
A landscaped waterfall marks the cooler, greener interior of the hilltop park.
Tip: Paths can be wet near the spray; use the signed route.
Bellanda Terrace
Finish above the red roofs and the curve of the Baie des Anges.
