Above Verona and the Adige, a Self-Guided Paris Walk

Cross the Adige and climb into Verona's quieter hillside quarter for gardens, Roman remains and a broad city view.

Ponte Pietra South Bank
Begin with the bridge framed by riverfront façades and the green hill beyond.

Teatro Romano Exterior
Roman seating climbs into the hillside and connects the river crossing to ancient Verona.
Tip: Ticketed access is separate and may change during events.
Santo Stefano Exterior
A quiet church and small square provide a pause before the steeper ascent.
Tip: Interior access follows local worship hours.
Castel San Pietro Terrace
The terrace gives the classic panorama of roofs, towers and the Adige's double curve.
Tip: The funicular and pedestrian stairs have separate operating constraints.
Giardino Giusti Entrance
A formal Renaissance garden lies behind a restrained street façade east of the centre.
Tip: The garden is ticketed; its entrance is the route marker unless separately booked.
Ponte Nuovo
Return to the river on a practical crossing with a final upstream view toward the hills.
Tip: Continue directly back to Piazza delle Erbe from here.
