Ombrière du Vieux-Port
A mirrored canopy frames boats, commuters and the daily theatre of Marseille's harbour.
Tip: Look up briefly, then move clear of the busy ferry approach.
Hôtel de Ville
The Baroque city hall anchors the historic north quay against the dense hillside behind.
Tip: Use the harbour side for the full façade view.
Pavillon Daviel
A formal eighteenth-century façade marks the first rise into Le Panier.
Tip: The surrounding steps can be polished and slippery.
Place des Moulins
A calm square occupies the highest point of the old quarter, once animated by windmills.
Tip: This is a good water pause before descending.
Vieille Charité
A monumental arcaded courtyard brings unexpected calm and symmetry to the dense neighbourhood.
Tip: Museum access varies, but the public courtyard is the essential stop when open.
Cathédrale de la Major
Finish at the striped cathedral above the port extensions and open sea.
Tip: The exposed esplanade can be very windy.
