Place Paul Verlaine
A village square and its historic artesian well establish the independent character of Butte-aux-Cailles.
Tip: Use the square as a coffee stop before entering the narrower streets.

Bistros, low façades and street art make this the lively spine of the hilltop neighbourhood.
Tip: Look into the side passages without treating residential doors as attractions.
Petite Alsace
A courtyard of half-timbered workers' houses brings an unexpected Alsatian silhouette to southern Paris.
Tip: Access is residential and can be restricted; the street-side glimpse must be enough if the gate is closed.
Square des Peupliers
A triangular lane lined with small houses and greenery feels more like a provincial village than an arrondissement street.
Tip: Keep the stop quiet and brief; people live directly along the lane.
Cité Florale
Flower-named streets curve around colourful houses in one of the city's most coherent little residential enclaves.
Tip: A slow loop through two or three streets is more rewarding than trying to photograph every house.
Montsouris Reservoir Exterior
The discreet exterior of a vast nineteenth-century reservoir hints at the infrastructure beneath the neighbourhood.
Tip: This is an exterior context stop; public entry is not part of the route.
Parc Montsouris Lake
Finish by the lake in one of Haussmann-era Paris's great landscape parks, where sloping lawns create a generous final pause.
